The Augmentative Communication in Practice: Scotland Study Days are not intended as money-raising events, but they do occasionally make a small profit. Some of this money can be made available for the use of people in Scotland who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication in the form of Project Awards.
Projects must directly involve one or more users of an augmentative communication system. In previous years people have used awards to allow AAC users to attend conferences, to organise social events, to make an accessible drama, to support a school trip and for many other purposes.
The awards cannot be used for the purchase of a communication aid, or similar equipment, or for professional training. The scheme is currently in suspension, but if you are hoping to run a small project that will benefit people who use AAC in Scotland, please contact Augmentative Communication in Practice: Scotland. We may still be able to offer some support.
