Family Day, 23rd April 2005

The various centres involved in Augmentative Communication in Practice came together to provide a Family Technology Fun Day at the CALL Centre in Edinburgh. Other organisations, including the Drake Music Project (Scotland), ASPECTS and Pass IT On were also present.
The Day provided parents and children with an opportunity to see and try a wide range of hardware and software to help children with communication difficulties and other disabilities. Parents took advantage of the day to have informal discussions with specialist staff from the various centres.
Funding for the day was provided by Communication Matters.
We hope to have similar days in different parts of the country on an annual basis. Check with your local centre, or on this web site for updates.
