Discover Technology Day and Consultation, Saturday 24th June

Augmentative Communication in Practice: Scotland are hosting a “Discover Technology” Day for adults (16+) who use AAC, to be held at Thomson’s Land, Moray House School of Education, Holyrood Road, Edinburgh EH8 8AQ on Saturday 24th June from 10.00 am until 3.30 pm.

Try out new computers and tablets, software, websites, music, communication aids, eye gaze, environment controls, and games and technology for fun and communication!

(Remember to bring YOUR communication aid!)

Make new friends and contacts. Get help and ideas from specialist professionals from AAC services and other centres across Scotland.

You’ll need to arrange your own transport and bring someone along to help you and join in the fun!

Lunch (sandwiches, etc.) will be provided between 12.30 and 1.30. If you have special dietary requirements, please bring what you need.

Consultation

The afternoon session (1.30 - 3.30) will be a consultation session, giving you a chance find out about the proposed Communication Access Symbol, changes in the law giving better access to communication aids, and to chat with friends.
